Art Crawl At The Grape!

On Thursday, February 8th, from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m., The Grape in Northlake Mall will host it's first annual Art Crawl!, featuring fine art by Charlotte artists, and complimentary hors d'oeuvres including The Grape's finest gourmet fare, live music and cash bar.

Christopher Smith opened The Grape in Charlotte's Northlake Mall about a year ago. Prior to that, Christopher was in the pharmaceutical industry, where he knew in his soul that he was missing something..., that creative something. "For me, it was great food and wine," says Christopher. "I was driven to create a place for the public to experience great food and wine. A place to taste and experience one of a kind wines from boutique and medium size wineries; a place to create one's own taste profile. I'm proud to say The Grape in Northlake Mall is that place.

"I'd also like The Grape to serve as an avenue to create an audience for local artists," continues Christopher. "I admire anyone, who is willing to pursue his creative impulses, and I applaud anyone willing to present those creations to the public! I want The Grape to become a haven for artist to come and display their work"

"I want to explore the ideas going on in my head," says clay artist, Abby Dilworth, pictured above. "I find it hard to read because there is so much going on in my head! I find the pottery wheel to be too mechanical, too limiting. I prefer hand building my clay," says Abby, whose sculpture and vessels portray her nature loving personality. Abby is one of the resident artists at Art In The Dairy, a school of glass, and glass related art.
