Erin Crowson and Kristin Suttle are two of Rose Hawley's many nieces. "Through years of baby sitting the girls, art was really the only activity we could afford," says Rose. "Free museum days, and recycled materials were big words in our vocabularies."

Rose Hawley is currently a glass artist, who combines impressionism with imaginary colors and textures to form her fused glass creations. "My pieces are basically stained glass, without any of the metal or the seams. I produce a solid piece of glass, with endless possibilities," says Rose Hawley.

Erin Crowson has loved photography probably longer than she can remember. She says her goal in photography, "has always been to capture the mood of the moment, and I've always been my most convenient subject." A recent adult, Erin's exhibit of Self Portraits portrays her recent journey of moods, and too many personalities to name.

Kristin Suttle's newest metal sculptures will be featured in this exhibit, including her limited edition (12) nail lamas. Kristin's current focus is on humanizing the world's creatures in metal.

All three of these local gals produce their works at Art In The Dairy, located in the processing plant of the old Black's Dairy, a turn of the 19th century family farm in far west Charlotte. Art In The Dairy opened in 2006 to increase the production of fine art glass, and related art in the Charlotte, NC area. For more on Art In The Dairy, click here!
